Pacific Blue Sunbrella, is the name of the classic nautical canvas colour blue, as seen on my main sail cover in the lower left hand photo.
Dated, overused, weathered and generic. It just had to go.
I am grateful to have access to a Juki industrial sewing machine at my Dad's shop, and a large space to work with. It is definitely a make shift sewing room with multiple tables pieced together, surrounded by four different sewing machines and all the other upholstery accessories. Never the less, it's been ideal for alterations, new projects, and sail repairs - only a stones throw away from the marina too.
This was the first time I have sewn a large custom piece out of canvas material. She fits a bit snug but I am proud of the outcome regardless!
I bid you adieu horrendous Sunbrella blue!
Before After
Adapting to limited table length...
The ease of electric scissors and the strength of an industrial sewing machine
Piecing the puzzle together again...
Twist eyelet + stud canvas fasteners
Out with the old blue and in with new burgundy!
Fair winds and following seas,
Cpt. Coco
